Three hi-tech SMEs and three of Europe's best Universities are set to change the way software applications are developed.
DRTS CEO, Jeff Allan, says that the motivation, and urgency, for this new consortium is that there's a huge untapped talent within SMEs waiting to be released. The problem for small hi-tech companies has always been having niche skills but being unable to bring them to market in a way that make sense to larger companies. The internet is developing in a way that allows all kinds of flexible and dynamic collaborations.
" We're setting in place a patform for smart ideas and tools to be easily joined together, and we're linking this to a business framework with automated licensing arrangements, and we're also providing training and support. The complete package in other words. What we're talking about is creating a vibrant dynamic for software application development. Of course software already has revolutionary development models in many forms, but what's lacking at the SME end of the spectrum is being able to provide the know-how, structure, security, guarantees and permanance that larger business need to make purchasing decisions. Ultimately we reckon that we can enable good, bright companies working together to compete with the best in the world to provide total solutions."
